It took a while for Knoxville to get the engines to fire last night. After playing to a 13-all tie after one quarter Knoxville came out and established tempo and a lead that the Panthers would never give up in a 58-to-48 victory over South Tama in the first round of the Class three-A regional. South Tama used a different style of attack that had Knoxville thinking at first. Coach Jim Utimarkt said he had the confidence to stay the course. Steph Kingery led a balanced attack for Knoxville with 17 points, Courtney Kingery had 14and Sam Abens dumped in 11. Knoxville is now 20-and-two on the season and will play Vinton-Shellsburg Saturday in Grinnell.
