The Pella Christian Lady Eagles dominated Albia last night in the Class two-A regional quarterfinal 62-to-43. The Lady Eagles fell behind three/nothing early but then went on a 12/oh run in the first quarter and never trailed again. Freshman Guard Christina Nolte sparked the Lady Eagles to a ten point halftime lead. This was only Nolte’s second varsity game but she responded with ten points in the game and was a huge part of the win. Shelby Weaver again started for the injured Jasmin Schellhaas and led all scorers with 23 points. Kayla Collins threw in ten points in the win as well. Coach Kevin Van Maanen thinks his team is playing their best basketball right nowbut there is always room for improvement. Pella Christian will meet Davis County in the Regional Semifinal in Ottumwa on Friday.
