Knoxville School Official Touts Nutrition Program in D.C.

The food services director for the Knoxville School district is in Washington D.C. today, touting the positives of the school’s nutrition program with the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee.  Sources tell KNIA/KRLS News Connie Boldt is sharing how the district has taken steps to eliminate obesity, educate students on healthy eating and improve their overall health goals.  In October East, West and Northstar elementary schools were recognized as winners of the USDA’s “First Gold HealthierUS School Challenge” in Iowa—the first schools to receive the award statewide.
