A 20-year-old Knoxville resident was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding on collided with a car on West Pleasant Street in Knoxville Friday evening. The Knoxville Police Department says the resident became airborne upon impact and hit the pavement, sustaining serious head injuries, and was life flighted to Iowa Methodist hospital in Des Moines. The driver of the vehicle, an 88-year-old Knoxville woman, did not appear to suffer any injuries. The Knoxville Fire and Rescue and Knoxville Police Department responded to the scene, and the police department continues investigation into the cause of the accident.
