It’s been a year since record-setting floods surged in areas across Iowa, and area residents should think about getting flood insurance, even though they aren’t in a flood zone.  That’s according to Darcy DeVries Personal Lines and Health Agent with McKay Insurance Agency in Knoxville.  DeVries says it takes 30 days for a new flood coverage policy to take effect, unless mandated by a mortgage company.
