Marion County Conservation District and Extension Personnel were recently certified as Rain Garden Designers. Sources tell KNIA/KRLS News that Terry McNeely, Competine Creek Watershed Project Coordinator and Karen Ackley, Marion County Extension Assistant and Master Gardener Coordinator, were recognized by the Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities. Both McNeely and Ackley attended a design, installation and maintenance training workshop to learn useful tools in solving storm runoff problems and yard beautification.
