Pella Christian’s Eli Groenendyk was named Offensive Player of the Game at the annual Shrine Bowl held in Ames Saturday but it was not enough for the South squad as the North snapped a three-year losing streak with a 21-to-17 win. Groenendyk caught a touchdown pass on the games first offensive series. Other area standouts who saw action on the night included Pellas Austin Steenhoek and P-C-Ms Gavin Burns and Seth Streeter. P-C-M coach Dar Dahms was an assistant for the South team and says the game was one of the most tightly contested matchups in recent memory.
