The bidding on two flood recovery projects at Lake Red Rock will be closed next week, allowing for work near the dam to take place this fall. With the aide of federal stimulus funding, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will undertake concrete and sewer projects to repair damage caused by high waters last summer. The concrete work includes rip rap repairs near the North Tailwater area, while the sewer work will take place at the Howell Lift Station. Bids on both projects were let earlier this month and John Holt with the Corps of Engineers tells KNIA/KRLS News that the bidding will be closed in early September, with a contract awarded within two weeks. The projects are expected to cost between one and two million dollars combined.
