While the volunteers that work at the Pella Food Shelf are enjoying the new location on the east side of town, its clients are enjoying the abundance of fresh produce that is available to them. JoNes VanHecke, Director of the Pella Food Shelf, says along with traditional non-perishable food stuffs, there is also every kind of seasonal produce item grown in Iowa on hand, thanks to donations from the Central College organic garden, a garden at Heartland Church, and many private gardens. The Pella Food Shelf is located in the New Peace Lutheran Church at 1000 Vermeer Road East.
