A Hunter Education course is being held September 10th and 12th. Marion County Naturalist Marla Mertz says the course will be held at the Marion County Sportsman’s Club facility east of Knoxville. She says the class, which is required of all Iowa hunters born after January 1, 1972 is from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 10 and 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2009. Mertz says there is no cost to students, but in order to receive certification, students must attend both sessions. She says those interested can register at the Marion County Recorder’s Office, 2nd floor of the Marion County Courthouse.
