Lieutenant Governor Patty Judge was in Knoxville Thursday, as the guest speaker for the Marion County Farm Bureau’s 91st annual meeting. Judge stressed the necessities of recent cuts in the state budget, and state initiatives to help pork producers affected by the public perception of the H1N1 virus. Raised in Albia and former Iowa Secretary of Agriculture, Judge also defended the importance of the I-JOBS program for job growth; a program criticized by some Republicans as only making temporary work instead of lasting jobs. The annual event was held at the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville.
