U.S. Cellular recently completed construction of a 140-foot cell tower at Pine Knolls Country Club and a 260-foot site 1 mile south of the Mile Long Bridge to improve call quality for cell phone users. Sources tell KNIA/KRLS News that The Pine Knolls tower will increase coverage and network capacity at the Knoxville Raceway, throughout Knoxville and along Iowa Highway 92. The site near the Mile Long Bridge will increase coverage and network capacity in the Lake Red Rock area and along Iowa Highway 14 between Monroe and Knoxville. These new sites are part of U.S. Cellular’s recently-launched 3G Mobile Broadband network in Iowa, which allows customers to access data on their cell phones 10 times faster than before and at no additional cost.
