The Marion County Board of Supervisors approved sending in applications to receive Community Benefit Grant Awards from Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino during their regular meeting Monday. The Board listed five groups or organizations it wants to receive funding, with A Call To Serve, or ACTS Ministries of Iowa being first, followed by a request from Emergency Management for a mobile command trailer, among others. In other business, the Board discussed sending three recently-added county medical examiners to St. Louis this month, and received an update from Barb Adam with the Marion County Care Facility. She says the Facility currently serves 39 people, 25 of which are Marion County residents.
