The Scholte House in Pella will open a special exhibit this week on the heels of a remarkable discovery earlier this month. A portrait of Nora Scholte thought to have been painted by an unknown artist from Des Moines was found to have been painted by Gerhard Nollen, a professional portrait artist from Pella, in 1896. Further probing led to the discovery of a second Nollen portrait. The paintings will be part of an exhibit titled “All in the Family,” which begins on Tuesday at the Scholte House in Pella.
