The park rangers at Lake Red Rock are hosting a butterfly tagging event Saturday afternoon. Park Ranger Tracy Spry tells KNIA/KRLS News the event comes as millions of monarch butterflies make their annual migration to Mexico, and the tags allow researchers – and even those who take part in the tagging – the chance to trace the path of the distinctive insects. Long pants and shoes are encouraged for those who wish to participate in the butterfly tagging, which will start at 1:00 p.m. Saturday in South Tailwater Park.
