The Central College women’s tennis squad avenged one of last season’s defeats with a 6-3 victory over Graceland Univ. Monday afternoon. The Dutch men, opening the non-traditional portion of their schedule, were blanked by the Yellowjackets, 9-0. The Central women trailed after the doubles matches but took five of six singles matches including a win by Jaime Ruisch a freshman from Pella. Central is back on the A.N. Kuyper Athletics Complex courts today against Wartburg College at 3:30 p.m. Even though this is coach Steven Tyler’s first year as Central’s head coach, the Wartburg match carries a little added significance. His son, Matt Tyler, is in his first year as Wartburg’s head coach. The Dutch men are off until next Tuesday when they host Simpson at 3:30pm
