After three weeks of district play, the Pella Christian football team finds themselves right where they want to be…in the drivers seat as the only undefeated team in Class 1A District 6. Nodaway Valley fell to Mount Ayr Friday night putting the Eagles all alone at the top of the district standings. Eagles coach Rich Kacmarynski says obviously they’re happy to be where they are, but he also knows the next three weeks will be three very tough opponents as they go to Nodaway Valley Friday, then host I-35 followed by a trip to Mount Ayr. Both Nodaway Valley and Mount Ayr currently sit 2-1 in the district just a game behind the Eagles while I -35 is 1-2 . He says the Eagles continue to improve in all phases of the game each week, and he feels they are playing their best football as they head down the stretch, but they still need to work on limiting turnovers, and scoring when they have opportunities.
