During the first two weeks of the season for Pella Christian football, Kyle Nikkel, Trey Hugen and Brett Nieuwsma emerged as big time threats to opposing defenses, but now you can add another name to that list…Alex Fynaardt. Fynaardt returned a kick for a touchdown against Des Moines Christian, and last week at Pleasantville rushed for 91 yards and caught four passes for 67 yards. Coach Rich Kacmarynski says he’s not surprised at all with Fynaardt but notes it’s nice to have another offensive weapon to keep the defenses guessing. Pella Christian is 3-1 overall and 2-0 tied with Nodaway Valley for the top spot in Class 1A District 6. The Eagles host Central Decatur tomorrow night who comes in 1-1 in the district and hopes to hand the Eagles a loss to keep their own post season hopes alive.
