The deadline to file papers for Knoxville’s city council and mayor positions is September 17th, and two city council members tell KNIA/KRLS News they plan to run. Elsie Kemp and Lori Beary tell KNIA/KRLS News that they’re planning on submitting their paperwork for the council seats, while council members Dave Roozeboom and Deb McClung say at this time they are not planning to run. Both the mayoral seat and the two city council positions have two year terms, while the other two council seats are four year terms. Residents can pick up candidacy paperwork at City Hall, and all papers must be filed to Knoxville City Clerk Jody Meyer by September 17th.
