Knoxville won its first cross country meet of the season Tuesday night with a win at the Oskaloosa Invitational. Boys Coach Mike Moats says Jamie Vander Veer finished fifth which was his best finish of the season, but he says Vander Veer knows he can bring his time down even more from an 18 minute performance. Moats says a good time to place well at state is in the 16 minute bracket, which he says Vander Veer is capable of. The Panthers are off until next Tuesday when they travel to the Newton Invitational.
