Summer often means work in summer gardens, flower beds, and on the lawn; but with Labor Day behind us and fall approaching, there’s still lots to do to take care of the various plants you may grow. Karen Ackley, Master Gardner with the Marion County ISU Extension Office says now is an ideal time to clean-up produce gardens, replace flowers, and plant trees. She also says now is a smart time to take houseplants that may be outdoors inside, as small animals may try to hide in them as the weather gets colder. Ackley says there is lots of fall gardening advice online, and people can also contact her at the Marion County ISU Extension Office to find out more.
