As area residents brace for the coming autumn season, they still need to make sure their grass and any weeds are trimmed and under the maximum allowable height. That’s according to Knoxville Community Services Officer Arlene Worrall. She says the maximum height for vegetation on developed residential, commercial and industrial zoned areas is 8 inches, undeveloped land is 12 inches and a maximum height of 18 inches on unplatted and agricultural zoned property. Worrall says residents benefit themselves and their neighbors my complying with this city ordinance, and should also make sure to keep their grass clippings out of city streets and drains when they mow.
