A clerical error made in the fall of 2008 has led PCM Schools to a $309,000 funding deficit. PCM School Superintendent Jane Babcock tells KNIA/KRLS News that the deficit has been temporarily covered through an extension of the district’s spending authority by the State Department of Education, which works like a credit card. Currently, the PCM School District is working to establish a plan to re-coup lost revenues before the 2010-2011 school year. Superintendent Babcock says the district believes this will be possible with help from the State; however an answer will not likely present itself until at least the end of the week.
