The PCM School District will not receive assistance from the state in recovering special education revenues lost due to a data entry error. PCM Superintendent Jane Babcock tells KNIA/KRLS News that a member of the Bureau of Student and Family Services informed her that there is no place in Iowa law to allow for a funding correction. The $309,000 from the 08-09 school year will not be made up this school year, as the tax levy for the district, and the state for that matter, has been set. The 2008-2009 special education balance will be negative, with taxation to be adjusted for next school year to recoup the negative balance in the 2010-2011 school year.
