Earlier this week, Pella Mayor Darrell Dobernecker presented length of service awards to a number of employees of the City of Pella at the annual Employee Recognition Breakfast. Employees reaching anniversaries in five year intervals were recognized; headlined by a pair of 30-year service awards. Those awards went to Dan Houser of the Electric Distribution Department and Tom Van Zee in the Water Department of Public Works.

Mayor Dobernecker said, “The City Council and I are impressed with the hard work and the experience of the City of Pella employees. We appreciate their efforts.” Other long-tenured employees include:

25 Years: Bob Boyd, Power Plant, Alvin Ozinga, Public Works Water Department, Marcia Slycord, Police Department, and Paul Vander Streek, Public Works Water Department

20 Years: Doug Riggen, Public Works Streets

15 Years: Richard Criss, Fran De Jong, Mike Norman, Thom Summitt, and Curt Vos.

10 Years: Richard Bangma, David Beukelman, Joey Silvers, Judy Van Zee, and Bill Wisse

5 Years: Kathy Deur, Matthew Huston, and Dan Schwerdtfeger.
