The Pella Rural Fire Department was paged out to the scene of a burning silo Sunday evening. The fire was reported at a rural residence at 1041 Carpenter Drive, north of Pella, at approximately 6:50 p.m. Firefighters quickly extinguished the small fire, which had burned a wooden portion of the bottom of the large silo. The small fire had apparently been smoldering for nearly a week.
