A preliminary hearing has been set for later this week in the case of a Pella man accused of enticing minors. 39-year-old Quintin H. VanRheenen faces two counts of enticing away a minor, following his arrest by the Pella Police Department on September 25th.
VanRheenen allegedly attempted to entice away a female under the age of sixteen on that date, along with a similar attempt on September 6th. According to court documents, when interviewed by Pella Police Officers, VanRheenen made self-incriminating statements in regards to his intentions for contacting the girls.
Enticing away a minor is an aggravated misdemeanor; which is punishable by imprisonment not to exceed two years and a fine not to exceed $6,250. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday, October 2nd, at 1:30 p.m. in the Marion County Courthouse. VanRheenen was released from custody Monday after posting a $10,000 cash bond.
