The Knoxville Police Department is stepping up officer presence on school grounds after area reports of strangers following or trying to entice young children into their vehicles in recent weeks. Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada also says its standard procedure to have more officers near school zones the first few weeks of school. Pella Police Chief Michael Marcinkowski says officers continue to take the necessary steps in keeping the community safe. Marion County Sheriff Ron Goemaat says residents should always call law enforcement if they observe any suspicious behavior.
