Residents can sign up now to volunteer with a September 26th “service surge” in Knoxville. A city planning committee and “A Call To Serve” or ACTS ministries of Iowa discussed the September 26th “service surge”, where a large number of volunteers assemble in Knoxville and help with numerous projects. Joel Bennett, co-founder and executive director of ACTS, says the group is looking for volunteers for scraping and painting projects, a dry walling project, construction of a wheelchair ramp, and people to help with general property clean up. Bennett says those wanting to get involved in volunteering can visit actsofiowa.org or stop by the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce to register.
