Pella Schools Superintendent Mark Wittmer shared various ways the district will aim to reduce expenses in the face of a reduction in state funding during Monday’s Pella School Board Meeting. Among the suggestions were minimizing costs to the district related to travel, energy usage, and additional purchases.

Superintendent Wittmer says some of those suggestions have already been implemented, and the district will continue to monitor the situation at the state level and react accordingly. The Pella School District will receive approximately $994,000 less in state funding beginning this year.
