The Pella Christian football team has winning a second straight Class 1A District 6 championship on their minds, and they’ll get that chance when they head to Mount Ayr Friday night. A win will earn the Eagles the outright district title, however a loss could force a three way tie between the Eagles, Mount Ayr and Des Moines Christian heading into week 9. Eagles coach Rich Kacmarynski says Pella Christian has improved steadily each week of the season in all aspects of their game, however one area he’d like to see improve a bit more is the passing game. He says all the weapons and pieces are there with Kyle Nikkel at quarterback and Trey Hugen, Alex Fynaardt, Zach Vos and others at receivers, but they need to continue to work on timing and accuracy to complete more passes which will make them an even tougher offense to defend. You can hear Friday’s game streamed live on kniakrls.com with Jamie Brockman and Nate Van Wyk starting with the pregame at 6:30 and kickoff at 7pm. There will also be a delayed broadcast of the game at 11pm Friday on 92.1 FM KRLS.
