There have been at least 32 deer-car accidents so far this year, and that number is expected to rise this season. Marion County Sheriff Ron Goemaat says the frequency of deer-car accidents has remained consistent from month to month this year. The Sheriff’s Office reported 56 total deer-car collisions with over $1,000 incurred in damage reported in 2008. Goemaat urges drivers to slow down and use caution, especially around dawn and dusk, when deer are the most active.
