A Knoxville High School alum has been working directly with members of the Iowa Senate in an internship that began in August. A state spokesperson tells KNIA/KRLS News that Alex Stanton spends 32 hours a week with the Senate Democratic Research Staff and attends a 2-hour class on Fridays. He obtained his internship through the Des Moines Center at the University of Iowa, where he is currently a sophomore majoring in Political Science. His parents are Rod and Sandra Stanton.
