Progress continued Thursday on bringing a possible new Taso’s restaurant to the square in Knoxville. City Zoning Administrator Cindy Glick says officals met with the contractors and owner of the restaurant, which could be located at the old Schmaltz’s Pharmacy Building at Second and Robinson Street, with demolition and construction hopefully starting next week. Space occupied by the former Taso’s Restaurant will soon be occupied by the new Chinese restaurant Deng’s Garden.

In related news, a car wash on West Pleasant Street in Knoxville opened this past Saturday, with new improvements and services. Linda Danker is co-owner of the “Knoxville Super Wash”, and says they are excited to be a part of the Knoxville community, which has been very receptive to the change. She says new paint, lights, an automatic wash arm, and a spot free rinse are some of features for the car wash.
