Around 220 people attended the production of Altar Boyz this past Saturday night at the Pella Opera House.
“We really enjoyed having the group come in and our audience was really excited and [they] really enjoyed it,” said Pella Opera House Executive Director Bill White.
He tells KNIA/KRLS News that the evening was a success for everyone involved and the challenge of getting all of the equipment for a large production onto a smaller stage was answered with a little help from several volunteers.
“This was an experiment, so to speak, to see if we could do it. It came off real well,” said White. We had great help from some Central [College] theatre students and actually from some Iowa State [University] students that came down and helped us set up and everything. We even had some volunteers from the Union Street Players, so everything went really well.”
White adds that the cast and crew of Altar Boyz enjoyed the opportunity to perform in a smaller venue.
