Pella Christian Boys Team and Two Girls Qualify for State, PCM, Pleasantville Also Send Runners to State

It was a great day for the Pella Christian cross country runners at the Class 2A District/Regional meet an Nodaway Valley yesterday as the boys team finished second to qualify for this Saturday’s Class 2A state meet and the girls had two runners qualify for state as individuals. The boys had four runners finish in the top 10 led by Skyler Giddings in second, Devin Veenstra was third, Josh Meyer finished sixth and Jacob Dahm was tenth. The girls had an incomplete team for scoring but Michaela Martin finished fifth and Kim Van Zee who was running ill finished eighth and both runners earned all district honors to move on to state. The PCM boys just missed qualifying for state finishing fourth as a team but did qualify three individuals as Jake Potter won the meet, Kolton Reed was 8th and Kaleb Catron was 9th. The Pleasantville boys finished fifth as a team but Bryan Korselman did qualify for state in Class 1A as he finished fourth, and the Pleasantville girls also finished fifth and qualified Delaney Jansen for state in Class 2A as she finished fourth. The state meet for all classes is this Saturday in Fort Dodge.
