Pella Christian will look to advance one step closer to a return trip to the State Volleyball tournament when they take on Clarke of Osceola tonight. Eagles’ Coach John Evenhouse says his team is going to focus on something they call “shot-making.”

“Our hitters have to be able to hit shots. When the other team puts a good block up against you, you have to be able to do something with the ball, and you still have to be able to score,” said Evenhouse. “We call that ‘shot-making’. You just move the ball different places, roll shots, hit it off their block…and we’re going to work on that a lot.”

The Eagles and Lady Indians have played each other already this fall, splitting a pair of games early in the pre-season. Opening serve of the Class 2-A Regional Semifinal between Pella Christian and Clarke is slated for 7:00 p.m. tonight and will be hosted at Pella High School. Coverage of the match can be heard on 92.1 fm KRLS and online at kniakrls.com with Eric Gotschall and Wynne Veenstra starting at 6:45 p.m.
