The Pella City Council expressed several concerns during discussion of a sewer improvement mandate at this week’s council meeting; one of which involved representation of the plight of small communities like Pella at the state and federal level.

Pella City Administrator Mike Nardini tells KNIA/KRLS News that message expressed by the representative of the Iowa DNR was that individual citizens need to be in contact with their government representatives to make sure their voices are heard and that they understand the policy decisions being made.

The Pella City Council reluctantly approved a resolution on a $3.4 million sewer improvement project to eliminate waste water bypasses that must be complete by October 2012.
