Pella got back on track Friday with their big win at South Tama and although it was an outstanding offensive night, Pella’s defense also came up with several big plays. Coach Jay Mckinstrey says he has been pleased with the defensive play most of this season and it was great to see them get back to that Friday night. Despite South Tama’s winless record they have been able to move the football averaging just under 300 yards per game, however Pella’s defense stopped them cold play after play and allowed just 186 total yards, most of which came late in the game when second and third team defensive players were on the field. Pella improved to 3-3 overall and 1-3 in Class 3A District 6 and will host Knoxville Friday night.
