The Pella High School Marching Band shone brightly at two field competitions this past weekend, claiming top honors at both events. On Saturday at the Pella Athletic Complex, the Little Dutch Marching band earned a division I rating in the State Marching Band Competition for the 34th consecutive year, and followed that up with the top performance in Class 3A at the Mid-Iowa Band Championships in Ankeny that evening; which included the top drum corps and color guard performances.

Other ratings from the State Marching Band Competition included North Mahaska with a I rating and Lynnville-Sully a II rating in Class 1-A. PCM earned a division I rating in class 2-A, while Knoxville received a division II rating in Class 3-A and Oskaloosa earned a division I rating, also in Class 3-A.

PCM and Oskaloosa also competed at the Mid-Iowa Band Championships in Ankeny, each earning 4th place in their respective classes.
