Pella Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Jill Vandevoort; and Bonnie Verberg, Director of the Vermeer Mill and Pella Historical agree that Pella claiming two prestigious tourism awards was the result of years of hard work by many members in – and even outside – the Pella community. The City of Pella was named “Community of the Year” and the Vermeer Mill and Pella Historical Village named “Attraction of the Year” for communities with populations up to 10,000 at the 2009 Iowa Tourism Conference last Thursday.
