A Pella woman is running in a marathon this weekend to help raise money for hospice care.  Debbie Kissinger will participate in “Run to Remember,” which will benefit the Hospice of Central Iowa, where she works, and the National Hospice Foundation.  Kissinger set out to run in the memory of three family members she lost in 2007, but has since added 28 more names to her list and continues to accept more loved ones to run in memory of.

”As people make donations, I ask if them if I can run in memory of a loved one they would like me to remember,” said Kissinger. “And I have a list of 31 names so far that I’m going to stick in my pocket and remember those people as I run the marathon, so it’s an emotional run.”

To donate to Kissinger’s “Run to Remember,” contact the Hospice of Central Iowa Office in Knoxville or visit her website below.  Debbie Kissinger is running in Sunday’s Des Moines Marathon.
