Pleasantville Teachers Holding 20th Century Harvesting Machinery Event

Although today’s combines and tractors are computerized, residents can see how farmers harvested corn by hand. Pleasantville High School teacher Dennis Oliver is inviting people to be part of a re-enactment of early 20th century harvesting techniques and machinery in southern Iowa this Saturday. The Saturday event begins at 1 p.m. at Dennis Oliver’s farm at 19829 Kirkwood Street in Milo, Iowa. He says he got the re-enactment idea when his 85 year-old- father-in-law expressed wanting to pick corn again with a team of horses
