Altercation in Pella Involving Firearm Ends Without Incident

A Pella man faces assault charges following a domestic altercation involving a weapon at a residence in the southern part of Pella Tuesday. 71-year-old Robert Lee Toom was arrested by Pella Police and charged with domestic abuse assault with a weapon. Officers responded to a report of a man with a firearm at approximately 1:38 p.m. Tuesday. Police were able to retrieve the weapon without incident and there were no injuries reported. Toom was jailed in the Pella Police Department holding facility to await an initial appearance in court.
