A successor to Pella High School Principal Mark Lee was announced at Monday night’s Pella School Board Meeting. Assistant High School Principal Eric Nelson will be promoted at the end of Lee’s tenure and begin serving in that capacity in the Pella School District in the 2010/2011 school year. Nelson has been the Assistant High School Principal for the past nine years. Pella Schools Superintendent Mark Wittmer says Nelson is the right person to keep the school moving forward.
“I think Eric’s done a great job for us and deserves the opportunity to take on this role,” said Wittmer. “I think he’ll do a great job of providing the kind of leadership that we need and keep our high school moving in the direction that it’s been moving.”
Mark Lee was granted approval for early retirement in October after serving as an administrator for over 20 years.
