Center Haley Brillhart a sophomore from Pella posted a double-double as the Central College women’s basketball team rolled to its first win in the home season opener last night, 70-43 over Grinnell College. Brillhart had 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Dutch improved to 1-3. Despite an undersized lineup, Central held a commanding 59-38 rebounding advantage. Sophomore Melanie Hopkins had 10 rebounds. Kelsey Schuring also a sophomore from Pella had seven rebounds and four assists. Central travels to Wisconsin.Platteville Saturday for an 11 a.m. game before starting Iowa Conference play next week.
