Friday is opening night for the Festival of Trees at the Pella Opera House. The annual Christmas display features dozens of decorated trees, along with other holiday-themed items, and a silent auction that serves as a fundraiser for the Pella Opera House. The silent auction closes on December 4th. Natalie Wesemann, President of the Partners Committee at the Pella Opera House tells KNIA/KRLS News a wide variety of holiday-themed items will be on display.

“There are some really creative ones [displays],” says Wesemann. “Zach Vander Horst made one out of a welded bicycle that you’ll have to come out and see. There are also traditional displays too. We’ve got a lot of other things like baskets and stockings, as well as a lot of gift ideas too.”

The Festival of Trees features an open house from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Friday, with a reception from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A “Family Night” has also been planned for Monday, November 23rd from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. that will include craft opportunities for children, as well as a chance to have their picture taken with Santa. The Festival of Trees display is open to the public Mondays through Saturdays from 10:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m., except for Thursdays, when it is open from noon to 6:00 p.m.
