The Thanksgiving Holiday should be a time of celebration and enjoyment with loved ones, but it can also be one of the more dangerous times of the year. Pella Police Lieutenant David Beukelman says law enforcement in Pella and across the state will be watching for unsafe drivers on the road and encourages holiday travelers to take their time when driving to reach their destinations safely. Pella Fire Chief Doug Van Gorkom adds that residents staying home need to be cautious when cooking their Thanksgiving turkey and says to never leave a cooking source unattended.
