The Pella Chamber of Commerce recently conducted a survey to find out how much money local businesses re-invest into the community through donations. Ten percent of the Chamber members – or roughly 30 businesses – representing businesses of all sizes reported their donations.

Their totals represented over $520,000 in donations, or an average of over $18,500 per business that was re-invested in the Pella community. That translates to an estimated $5.57 million dollars that was donated back to programs and causes for the community from Chamber businesses alone in 2008.

The survey was conducted by the Pella Chamber of Commerce to illustrate the importance of supporting local businesses that put those profits back into the Pella Community.
