Dry and warmer weather has sent many area residents out to take care of fall yard work, and the City of Pella is reminding residents that bags to dispose of leaves and yard waste are available at several locations around town. Locations include:

 City Hall – 825 Broadway
 Public Works – 100 Truman Rd.
 Casey’s – 414 S. Clark, 414 Oskaloosa, 900 Main St. & 2421 Washington St.
 Kum & Go – 744 Washington Street.
 Theisen’s – 403 E. Oskaloosa
 Stravers True Value – 818 Main St.

Bags are $4.75 for a bundle of five, and bags of yard waste will be collected every Wednesday through December, at which time pickup dates will be reduced to the first and third Wednesdays of the month only. The filled yard waste bags must weigh less than 40 pounds. Sticks may be bundled with string or rope and need a Metro Waste Authority sticker placed on them to be picked up. All bags and stick bundles must be labled Metro Waste Authority or they will not be picked up.

All yard waste must be set out at the curb before 7:00 a.m. on Wednesdays.
